Norm and Miriamah  share a love for all things vintage, and feel a special connection and responsibility to downtown Las Vegas and it’s evolving communities. Norm moved to Las Vegas as a 10-year-old from Canada, and used to ride his bike on the street where “Huntridge House” sits. He is best known for inspiring and educating the public as longtime co-host of KNPR‘s “Desert Bloom“ as well as for his work as a horticulturist, and owner of Schilling Horticulture Group, creating beautiful and sustainable landscapes throughout the Vegas Valley.  In his younger days, however, Norm made a living salvaging and selling unique, vintage, and collectible “treasures“, many of which he gathered from the old Las Vegas city dump (note: nothing in the houses came from the dump!)  Norm’s commitment to the concept of “Reduce, Reuse & Recycle”, along with his fascination with history contributed to his desire to embrace a vintage theme for the vacation rentals.

Miriamah, a resident of Las Vegas since 2004, was brought up by DIY’er parents, helping to renovate old houses, and carousing countless estate sales, thrift stores, and garage sales. She has always felt intrigued by the “character” an older home can possess, as compared to their modern counterparts. Both sides of her family have been collectors and antique dealers, and for years during her childhood, her mom even had an antique shop in her house! It’s clearly “in the blood” because she has maintained a deep appreciation for historical and vintage elements. A massage therapist by trade, Miriamah works at a luxury spa on the Strip, and also offers her services through her business, World Tree Healing Arts.

Together, Norm and  Miriamah had a desire to be a part of the renaissance that is bringing life back to the core of Las Vegas, and to “give some love” to these great, vintage houses that had fallen into disrepair. Having a large family of adult children and grandkids, they’ve long been fans of the vacation rental option during their travels, and found themselves inspired to host, as well. They are committed to providing unique, comfortable, and well appointed accommodations that even the most seasoned travelers will appreciate! Through the photographs of old downtown, the vintage art work, and the library provided in each of the rentals, they hope to kindle the interests of their guests in Las Vegas’ colorful past, and the fascinating people who have played a part in making the city what it is today…fabulous!
